Ramona and Caden met January 23rd, 2021 on House Mountain. They were both in Hiking Club at UT together, but had never met.

Ramona and her friends decided to go to the first hike of the semester to try and meet some new people. Caden had the exact same thought.

As they began hiking, Ramona noticed the guy in front of her was wearing Vans to climb the mountain, she thought he was either a pro hiker or a weirdo. Whereas, Caden saw Ramona and was determined to befriend her (off to a good start).

Half way up the hike Ramona was joking with her friends, when Caden made his move and tried to join the conversation. Sadly, Ramona was not impressed and ignored him. Thankfully, Ramona's friends were and became friends with him.

As time went on Ramona and Caden became friends. They went hiking together, studied in the library, went to the dining hall, and even went on spring break together!

In November 2021, Caden FINALLY made his move and asked Ramona out. She agreed and they went to Tomato Head (Ramona's favorite pizza place) and then saw Dune. They officially started dating November 23rd 2021.

Over the three and a half years they were together, they would travel Europe, visit Belize, work at a summer camp, go backpacking, get a cat and two dogs, and so much more.

On March 31st, 2025, Caden drove up to Knoxville to surprise Ramona. They went to dinner at Calhoun's on the River and took a walk along the Neyland Greenway. Caden asked Ramona if he wanted to do a timer picture, to which she begrudgingly agreed because she was cold. While Ramona was looking for turtles, Caden secretly pressed record on his phone and got down on one knee! She obviously and very excitedly said yes!

Now we are here! We are so excited to celebrate our biggest adventure yet with all of our loved ones! Thank you for encouraging and supporting us throughout our relationship and being there for the most exciting day of our lives! - Ramona and Caden :)
